Please do bring along sponges, palette knives, and a selection of brushes to include a fan & wide brush for decorating.
The classes will last 90 mins – with no more than 4 people and cost £15 (- to include all materials). These sessions should be booked in advance. Miles will also be demonstrating the pointillism technique in a talk at 3pm.
Art Exhibition
Local artists will be exhibiting a wide range of artwork – much of which takes the natural world as it’s inspiration.
School’s Art Competition
Local school children are asked to create their own artwork on the theme ‘The Garden’. They can choose any medium in which to work. There are three ages groups – up to 7 years / 7 to 14 years / 14 to 18 years. There are prizes for each age group so the winners can select art materials – 1st £50 – 2nd £30 – 3rd £20.
The competition is being run in conjunction with local schools – who are asked to submit the artwork by 12th May. The artworks will be judged by well know professional artist, Lindsey Keats – and prizes will be presented at 3.30 on Sunday 22nd. The children’s art will be displayed at the Garden Festival on both Saturday and Sunday. After the prize presentations, the children may take their artworks home – otherwise, they will be returned via their schools.
